Twirls and Spills

For a fun family activity today we went up to Park City to go ice skating.  Sadly, Peter can't ice skate of course, we love that he walks now too much!  Soooo he was the designated cheer leader and photographer.  All three Osborn boys had a super great time!

Michael instantly remembered how to skate from our visits to Steiner last winter.  As he skated around today, he listened to other people's skating tips to get better.  By the end, he was offering them to Jacob and myself!  "One, two, three - GLIDE"  - he would coach.  He was skating forwards, backwards, turning and jumping.

Jacob started on the ice with a big huge fall, forgetting how slippery it really was!  But that didn't stop him today.  He got right up and kept trying - I was so very proud of him.  By the end of the day he could skate around the entire rink all by himself.  He did not want any help - very determined the entire time.

Scotty on the other hand, was just so excited to try this for the first time.  Most of the time he preferred to skate with me.  Once he tried the 'walker' and zoomed across the rink instantly on his own!  He just loved every minute of it.  The most exciting of course was when the Zamboni came at the end (well timed, I might add).  Michael went back out to try the new ice before we left for lunch.  A perfect outing - we must go back!
