We gave the Manwaring kids a sock puppet kit for Christmas - which Jacob was sad to see leave the house. I told him we didn't need the kit because we had most of the things that were in the box at home already. All we needed were some fun furry socks. Well, he did not forget. On Christmas Eve I gave the boys some fuzzy socks to wear with their PJ's from Old Navy - the PERFECT kind for sock puppets according to Jacob (only that the ones for the boys were tiny, and shrank even tinier in the wash). And since then, Jacob has been planning his CLUB. The sock-puppet-making club. Yesterday was the first day back at Preschool, and apparently that was all that he and John talked about all day at school: the club. So last night, I made a late run to Old Navy to get some more of those socks - which of course were sold out by now and a kind sales lady helped me find them in a clearance bin in the back. Couldn't beat the price at least!

Soooo this morning after Michael went to school, we got our "club" ready and called around to invite some friends. John of course came and we invited Jane too from school since she lives just a block away. The whole little party was a darling success. Of course Scotty just followed them around and copied everything they did feeling very grown-up.
The children made puppets with buttons, felt, fuzz balls, and googly eyes. Each did individual shows for the group (even Scotty did!) as well as one big show for me. Lots of monsters eating other monsters with a few ninjas thrown in. They did finally rescue the princess. A fun and busy morning.
