We walk in the back door of the house. We never have had a key to our front door - ever. It is the original door to the house and cannot be re-keyed. It has a funky little 2 way mirror/window in the door. I like it, and so we kept it. When we go in the back we hang keys on the hooks, coats on the wall and shoes go in the baskets.
