First Friend

Scotty has his first best friend.  His name is Ollie.  Ollie moved onto our street last month.  Scotty has never really cared about playing with other kids before.  He has loved being with his brothers and that has been enough for him.  Other children have offered to play with him and he turns them down.

Scotty is really great at playing the Wii, keeping up with 7 year old conversation, laughing at 9 year old jokes, and thinking that he is a big kid.  What I love is that his friendship with Ollie lets him be 4. 

Yesterday, the 2 little boys played for 3 straight hours without stopping for a second.  They were inside, outside, upstairs, downstairs.  One minute they were coloring with pastel chalk and had the art supplies out (which Scotty never does), later they were out in the back yard pretending Bella was a shark up on the playground.  These boys were thrilled to eat lunch together, chatting away for a half hour.  They could have played all day.  It has been a while since I have had cute little boy play in this house - and it is just what my Scotty needs.  I love it!

Scotty had 3 hours of doctors appointments today for a difficult ear situation.  The second we got home he sprinted down the street.  Where?  To Ollie's house.
