Today Michael turns 8! It is an amazing fact to me. He left for church this morning with his first set of scriptures in a little scripture bag, very ready to get baptized! That happens at the end of this month, in the mean time we celebrated his 8 years yesterday afternoon with a big back yard party. His party that was "just a party" (no theme this year), included an 18 foot waterslide, games, cake, boys from school, the Manwarings, Kuemmels, Nick & Karin's family and Alex & Whitney. The waterslide provided endless fun for all the boys - including brave Scotty, who thinks he is just as big as they are!
We played 2 fun water games. Bobbing for apples - where Tommy Manwaring lost his first tooth in an apple (above!). Secondly a watergun game - squirting shaving cream drawings off each others' stomachs with water guns. We had a couple others planned, but that seemed to be enough - back to the waterslide!
Of course a couple shots of party decorations...I can't help myself.
The last fun, was a cotton candy machine. (The same place that brought the waterslide also brought the cotton candy machine - I had been the cotton candy girl at a church party last summer and it was just so much fun we couldn't resist). It really made it feel like a fun summer event! We had a fabulous afternoon. I am proud of who Michael is, who he is becoming and am filled with JOY at the thought that Peter and I have been blessed to be his parents.
