Yesterday evening was the first Osborn Swim meet. Mikey started the JCC's swim team earlier this spring - they have been practicing for over a month. Michael swam in his first 2 races (of many more to come!). The first was an IM relay - he swam the 4th leg freestyle. Then he also swam a boys 7-8 25 Free. He was nervous, excited, and then thrilled when he jumped out of the water. He has plans to frame his first ribbon.
The last 2 races were canceled because of a fast moving thunder and lightning storm that was quickly on top us. We ran to the car as it started pouring and went out to dinner - just Michael, Peter and myself. He said he had never been to dinner with both parents by himself and was loving every minute of it. So were we.
Michael talked to Greg on the phone last night - the first Osborn grandkid to swim in a race. Greg was reliving all sorts of swim meets! ...and Michael was proud to share the moment with him.
