School Party

Turning 4 is a fun year. It is the first birthday year when a child REALLY understands what getting older is all about - and looks forward to it for many, many months. When I was pregnant sick with Colin, Amy would frequently take Scotty to the aquarium. Scotty LOVES the aquarium. He witnessed many birthday parties in the sunken ship birthday party room. His dream in life became, to have a birthday party in this room. In our family, we live to fulfill a 4 year old's birthday dreams! It is just so fun. Thus the beginning of the aquarium party week...
The first celebration was a school party. We brought fish shaped cookies. His teacher read a birthday book. The class sang a song about the earth circling the sun each year, asking Scotty what he learned each year of his life. He answered that in his 4th year he wanted to "touch a rainbow". He told his class that turning 4 made him feel "big like his brothers".
