Invention Convention

Michael is in Heaven this month at school. Their curriculum is based on simple machines and inventions. For a boy who needed something to be excited about after vacation, this was the answer. The assignment was to bring small appliances from the DI to school. We brought a VCR and a blender. Peter sent him with a bag full of tools labeled "Osborn". At school they took apart their appliances and then "invented" something new and imaginary with their parts. For my lego building boy, this was a dream come true. He loved that he had the best selection of tools that other children needed to borrow. He loved that he was the only child allowed to use the hot glue gun (because he had previous experience with it at home). He is looking forward to the "Invention Convention" this week where they will reveal their invention to the class and then set them up in the hall for the other grades to tour. His teacher emailed me a photo of my happy boy in action.
