McGillis celebrates the 100th day of school in numerous ways. All grades have a count-down to this day. Each grade has it's own unique activities all centering on the number 100. Jacob's class had to bring in 100 of something. He chose Valentine's day candy. Michael taught him that it was easiest to count 10 piles of 10. It turns out that 100 was easy to count that way!
My favorite was 2nd grade's celebration. They had to come to school dressed the way they thought they would look when they were 100 years old. Michael decided that if he lived to be 100, he would definitely be retired in Hawaii. He asked me to go to the D.I. and find him a Hawaiian shirt covered in flowers and yellow old-man golf pants. Hilarious! We then made a beard out of cotton and he wore his sunglasses. He just cracks me up sometimes.
Both boys had a great day at school - playing lots of fun games. Michael's grade paraded around the school in costume. Jacob loved seeing him come thru his room!
