First Goal!

...or should I say first 11 goals.  Today was Scotty's first soccer game.  He has been waiting weeks to finally start playing on a real team.  This boy has been to countless of his brothers' games.  Finally it was his turn.  We are doing the league at Steiner Sports Center, and they play indoors on the University football practice field.  6 mini soccer fields were set up with hundreds of tiny players.
We didn't know Scotty even really knew how to play...yet with in seconds on the field he was defending his goal, stealing the ball, dribbled up the field around all the players and SCORED!  One minute later he was stealing the ball from the other team and scoring again.  If the other team got the ball, he immediately went to defend the goal.  If the ball went out, he stepped up to throw it in [the other kids hadn't even seen a throw-in yet].
It was the Scotty show!  I loved the goal he shot with his left foot because there was a player in the way of his right foot shot.  They don't keep score at this level - unless you are Scotty who yells half way thru the game, "6 to ZERO - you are going DOWN!".  Yep.  He is the 3rd brother in a house of boys.  I guess all those days in the yard playing against the big boys have paid off!!  Yay Scotty.  It was so fun to watch and cheer!!  All brothers were equally as excited for him.
