Summer at the Lake
Even though we were at the Lake for only one week this summer, somehow it still defines the entire season. Today Scotty was asking me in a dreamy voice, "What if we lived at Lake Chelan? We would drive on a boat every day!"
This year we tried driving to the Lake from SLC. We estimated 12 hours, but it actually took 15 (and that was with some speedy driving by Mr. O). The boys were strangely angelic for all 30 hours of driving - even the baby was tolerable. Lots of old Disney movies they had forgotten about, iPod touch games, Baby Einstein movies, and Scooby Doo episodes kept everyone happy. But poor Peter's back suffered terribly. Now we know he cannot do long drives post-surgery. It was worth a try. Especially it was worth a great week with my parents. I left my camera at the Lake house - hence no photos yet - after my worst migraine to date. I am waiting for my mom to deliver my camera tomorrow, although I hear all my photos are over exposed. Dang.
