We love our neighborhood! Every 4th of July, 100 children in the neighborhood gather at the corner of Colonial Circle with decorated bikes, wagons, scooters and strollers. We parade around the neighborhood (the kids love riding in the middle of the streets) while families without kids stand on their grass waving and cheering. Some houses blast patriotic music. The parade ends at the Kitterer's house next door to us for a big front yard breakfast. Rachel cooks pancakes and everyone brings food to share. This year I made the Barefoot Contessa's coffee cake - yum!
